Straighten Up Orthodontics

Greetings parents and patients:

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.  I have looked forward to writing this note to let you know that our office will be opening soon and we are anxious to welcome you.  Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to easing back into regular routines.  While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your oral care and your safety.  

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  We have added additional safety controls on top of our normal procedures for added precaution and want to make sure you know what to expect as you return to see us.

During our downtime at Straighten Up Orthodontics, we’ve never worked so hard.  We’ve participated in educational webinars, collaborated with colleagues, and launched renovations.  We’ve altered our reception area and clinical area and expanded our PPE inventory.  We’ve participated in training by experts in Infection Control, CDC Guidelines, Universal Precautions and Social Distancing.  We have been hard at work getting our office ready for you and we look forward to welcoming you!

We ask for your patience.  We have already begun rescheduling patients on a first-canceled/first-rescheduled basis, which is fair, efficient, and will serve everyone with getting back on track.  And we thank you in advance for your patience with re-scheduling appointments, limiting one family member in the reception area, restricting entry to the clinic area for non-patients as well as other measures mandated by the American Dental Association and the Center for Disease Control.

 Our office procedures have temporarily changed and will include the following:

APPOINTMENTS 

Please wait for our office to call you to reschedule your appointments. We have a very accurate and comprehensive list of every appointment canceled, including day and time.

Emergencies will continue only to be defined by pained bleeding.  For now, broken brackets and ill-fitting retainers do not constitute an emergency.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Brush your teeth at home

Our tooth-brushing station is currently closed to eliminate transfer of bacteria or viruses.  It will be used as a hand-washing/sanitizing station required of every patient before being seated.  

Wear a mask/scarf to your appointment 

Do not drink anything cold or hot before you arrive,  We will be checking your temperature to determine if you have a fever of 100.4 degrees or greater.  If you should feel poorly or have a temperature, we will reschedule your appointment. 

VISITS

Please arrive ON TIME for your appointment, please let the office know when you have arrived.  Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.  Only the patient that is being treated will be allowed to enter the clinical area.  Your temperature will be taken by staff using a touchless thermometer.  If your temp is over 100 degrees F, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.   A simple questionnaire assessing your contacts, travel, and well-being will be asked of all patients as well.    ALL patients/parents must complete a Supplemental Consent to Treat form before being seen.   As we continue our readiness preparation, we have other projects in the wings.  In the meantime, our team will look forward to speaking with you to reschedule your appointment or answer questions.  We will post our re opening date as soon as confirmed.  

We are so grateful for every one of our patients, and this time away has only served to make us even more thankful for each of you.  Expect that your treatment progress has been delayed, as has your estimated treatment time.  Please forgive us as we are focusing on getting each of you back on track while not exposing our team members or patients to unnecessary risk.
