Invisalign® involves wearing a series of aligners that are used to gently nudge the teeth into their correct positions. Your service length and the number of trays you are assigned are dependent on your personalized plan.
Invisalign® aligner trays are constructed of a clear thermoformed plastic. These trays perfectly encapsulate the teeth and can be removed whenever you eat or brush your teeth. Since they are transparent, often times, the aligners go unnoticed, making it the most discreet option for orthodontics.
Invisalign® treatments are designed to correct minor to moderately advanced cases of crooked and misaligned teeth, as well as conditions such as overbites, underbites, and teeth crowding. In more extreme cases, this may not be the preferred method.
At our Silver Spring, MD orthodontics practice, we offer both Invisalign® and Invisalign Teen® treatments. Dr. Wiltshire of Straighten Up Orthodontics would be happy to go over your options and determine which method is best for you.

Dr. Cathy Wiltshire is lead orthodontist at Straighten Up Orthodontics. Dr. Wiltshire completed her post-doctoral residency in orthodontics at Howard University in Washington, D.C. During her residency, Dr. Wiltshire received advanced education in orthodontics, training for patients undergoing orthognathic surgery, and certification in Invisalign® treatments.
Through memberships with the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Maryland Dental Society, as well as regular attendance at conferences and seminars, Dr. Wiltshire stays up-to-date on the latest orthodontic treatments and techniques. It is Dr. Wiltshire’s mission to serve patients in a way that brings them a lifetime of health and social benefits, and of course… lots of beautiful smiles!
Dr. Wiltshire is licensed to practice orthodontics in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
